ABSTRACT
Tensors, or multilinear maps, are well-known classically, but relatively isolated from the modern algebraic geometry or commutative algebra. In the talk I will illustrate recent advances in tensors, including concise secant varieties. I will focus on describing new approaches and open problems that can be tackled with more modern tools of commutative algebra and algebraic geometry.
