ABSTRACT
While a classification of Fano-type blow-ups of products of copies of the projective space at points in general position is available —following the work of Mukai, Castravet and Tevelev, and Araujo and Massarenti— little is known for blow-ups of mixed products. In this talk, I will present some results in this direction and show how certain generalizations of classical objects, such as secant varieties and joins, play a central role.
This is based on joint work with Artie Prendergast-Smith.
